Projects Overview

Use the 'Projects' tab in the Navigation bar to manage your projects. Projects represent the combination of an ontology, dataset(s), and team member(s) that come together to produce a set of labels. Click the links below to learn more about each type of project:

  • Annotation projects are designed to annotate various types of datasets for production purposes.

  • Training projects are designed to train annotators to become better at their annotation tasks, improve their accuracy and consistency, and enhance their overall annotation skills. Through these projects, annotators gain valuable experience, receive feedback, and develop their expertise, ultimately becoming more proficient in producing high-quality annotations.

Entity relationships

The diagram below illustrates how projects relate to other entities in Encord.

  • Projects bring together ontologies and datasets.
  • A project can have multiple datasets attached to it, but only one ontology.
  • One ontology can be attached to multiple projects.

Annotation tab

This is where you create, filter and manage your annotation projects.

  • + New annotation project: this will initiate the project creation flow for an annotation project
  • Search bar: typing in the search bar will filter the projects by title
  • List of projects: clicking on a project item will take you to the annotation project dashboard for managing that project

The circles on the right of each project item indicate the percentage of annotation and review tasks that are complete for that annotation project.

Training (Beta) tab

This is where you create, filter and manage your training projects.

  • + New training project: this will initiate the project creation flow for an annotation project
  • Search bar: typing in the search bar will filter the projects by title
  • List of projects: clicking on a project item will take you to the test project dashboard

The circles on the right of each project item indicate the percentage of annotation and review tasks that are complete for that training project.
